Volunteer Opportunities

The Carpinteria Valley Museum of History seeks volunteers to serve as Museum Docents.  Working  one or more times monthly, this dedicated group of volunteers opens the museum to the public five days a week, answers visitors’ questions, gives tours, and makes gift shop sales.  The museum provides individual training as well as a docent handbook for personal study of local history.  The museum is open to the public from Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 until 4:00 PM.

The Projects Committee organizes the work for special projects and events.  From cleaning artifacts to hosting receptions, working on the newsletter mailing, staffing Holiday Faire booths, or selling vintage goods at the Museum Marketplace, this group provides an invaluable service.  As few as a couple of hours per month is helpful, so please consider joining the museum's volunteer family!  We also welcome high school students seeking community service hours.

For these or other volunteer opportunities, please email or call David Griggs at the Museum, Monday through Friday (805) 684‑3112.
